Beer Bottles - P.E.T. & Glass

Beer Bottles for home brewing are a staple of the craft. Many brewers start with Beer Bottles and later graduate to kegs to store their beer. Beer bottles need to be sanitized and capped but the portability is key reason people bottle their beer. Brown Beer Bottles help protect the brews from the harmful suns rays.

Gert the Goblin still uses them - especially the 1 liter sized versions. Beer bottle glasses have always been made of glass, but now with the P.E.T. bottles becoming so popular, he’s wondering if they might be worth a try. The advantage to having strong, lightweight and durable plastic bottles sometimes makes them a good alternative to glass bottles for beer making. P.E.T., which is short for “polyethylene terephthalate,” has been around since the early 1940s and is mostly used for containing food and beverages.
